I’ve been so looking forward to this podcast debut! I’m the mother of 2 - ages 29 and 31. They are absolutely delightful adults and continue to surprise me every day with how much they know and do. But as you mentioned, there are a few “basics” of adulting that seem to have evaded them. I look forward to Amanda’s book filling in some blanks for all of us. And when to bite the tongue? I’m a questioning and a “fill in the silent blanks” mother, and have learned, as you said, that listening is a better way to learn more about what they’re up to, how they feel, what they want. My husband is much more of a “let them learn by doing (read: make their own mistakes)” and I’ve learned that he’s on to something! Would his/my parents have driven us to sports practices and school events in other states? Would they even have known we were on a sports team? They sure wouldn’t have made a podcast about this topic - Ha! Kudos to Denise, Ellen, and guest author Amanda for a great discussion. I’m certainly looking forward to the next 2 episodes on finances and weddings.
